Rustic Fantasy Dice
I've recently come across another game called Legend in the Mist. I don't know much about it yet and haven't played it, but Son of Oak describes it as a "rustic fantasy RPG." It also apparently had a very good year at the ENNIEs, winning six awards.
I find the timing interesting. Stonetop calls itself hearth fantasy, while Legend in the Mist uses rustic fantasy, and both have arrived at roughly the same time. I don't know how much the games actually have in common beyond that, but it's strange to see two fantasy RPGs putting this much emphasis on home, villages and rural life at the same time.
What really caught my attention, though, were the dice Son of Oak made for the game.
River Pebble Dice
Their River Pebble Dice are twelve-sided dice numbered 1 through 6 twice. If that sounds familiar, it's the same idea as the DoubleSix dice I wrote about in [The Mighty Dodecahedron]. They work exactly like regular d6s, which means they'll work perfectly well for Stonetop.
The difference is that these actually look the part. They're rounded and made to resemble little river stones, and I think they'd look great on a Stonetop table.
Acorn Dice
Then there are the Acorn Dice. These are six-sided dice shaped like acorns and sold with a leather satchel that doubles as a dice tray. They're obviously made for Legend in the Mist, but I don't think you could design a set of dice that looks much more at home with Stonetop if you tried.
Neither of these were made for Stonetop, and you certainly don't need them to play. I just thought they were worth pointing out to anyone else who likes having dice that fit the game they're playing.
