The Faithful Below
An Adventure Starter for Stonetop
As Stonetop struggles to recover from weeks of relentless rain, a strange clay vessel is discovered buried beneath a damaged section of the Ringwall. Its discovery raises troubling questions about the storms, and the people who may have brought them.
The Faithful Below is an investigation-focused Adventure Starter for Stonetop, involving a hidden cult, an ancient power beneath the earth, and a betrayal that threatens the bonds holding the village together.
It's intended to be played as an optional continuation of The Bell Beneath.
A Warning to the GM
This adventure may permanently change Stonetop.
At the heart of this Adventure Starter is a cult whose members have lived among the villagers for years. They are neighbors, friends, and people the PCs have relied upon. Their exposure may destroy friendships, divide households, and leave Stonetop struggling to decide whom it can trust.
Consider carefully whether this is the kind of upheaval you want for your Stonetop. The revelations in this adventure cannot necessarily be undone, and there is no expectation that village life will return to what it was before.
